On November 7, 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument in Kawashima v. Holder, No. 10-577, on whether the convictions of lawful permanent residents for filing, and aiding and abetting in filing, a false statement on a corporate tax return in violation of 26 USCA §§ 7206(1) and (2), respectively, constituted aggravated felonies that warranted their removal under the INA, a question which has divided the circuits.
